He was born February 22, 1974 in Sidney, NY to Douglas and Sharon (Neer) Peck. He graduated from Bainbridge-Guilford Central School in 1992.
He graduated from SAGE Trucking and Training School in Binghamton, NY, from which he received his CDL-A. John worked for A Cut Above Tree Service in Pennsylvania. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for over 10 years.
Ever since John was a child, he loved NASCAR, and was recently able to drive a stock car around a track in an amateur race, where he finished 1st place, and qualified to move on to a larger race. He was also privileged to meet Tom Wopat and the rest of the cast of The Dukes of Hazzard at Cootter’s Garage in Virginia. He also recently was able to acquire his dream “jacked-up” loud truck, a Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel.
He loved the outdoors and fishing on his boat, and recently went on a few chartered deep sea fishing trips with his daughter Ella and stepdaughter Aliah, whom he treated like his own. He also loved to spend time at Black Lake, having gone on camping and fishing trips there ever since he was young.
John loved his music, his favorite artists including AC/DC, Kiss, Luke Combs, Johnny Cash, and Aaron Lewis.
He loved to cook and barbecue, and was well-known among family and friends for his hot wings and macaroni and cheese.
Most of all, John loved spending time with his children and his stepdaughter Aliah, whom he called his own.
John is survived by his wife, Regina Donovan Peck, and her daughters, Aliah Young and Alexis Hann, and Alexis’s daughter Kennedy; Regina’s mother Phyllis Donovan, and her sister, Robin Donovan. Also, his children from a previous marriage, Ella and Ethan Peck, who were the light of his life; his mother, Sharon Peck; his brother, David Peck, his wife, Jeanette, and their children, Kayden, Shane, and Kylee; his sister, Angel Towndrow, her husband Thomas, and their children, Gabriel, Kerstin (Towndrow) Gravel, and Bryan, his Uncle Cliff and Aunt Carla Peck and their children, Robert and Brian Peck, and Sheri Hess, and their families, as well as many other extended family members and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas E. Peck; his maternal grandparents, Doritta and Ira Neer; his paternal grandparents, Thelma and Howard Peck; and his nephew, Brandon Towndrow.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 28 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 75 Calvary Dr., Norwich, NY.
