Charlie, a gentle loving soul who touched the hearts of many. A big man in stature outwardly with an even bigger heart within. Charlie was blessed with athletic abilities in his youth and won many awards during his years in little league, basketball, and football in high school. His parents were most proud of the Christian Character Award granted to him which he promptly handed over to the runner up. That defined his humbleness in his youth and remained with him until his physical passing. He was a graduate of Monsignor Donovan High School and Rowan University.
He loved animals, sports, comedy and music. He enjoyed fantasy sports where he was the commissioner of a fantasy baseball league and involved in many leagues throughout the last 20 years or so. He was a writer for numerous sports sites and enjoyed writing poems and short stories as well. He enjoyed going to Great Adventure and riding thrill rides with his family, especially with the Apple of his eye, his nephew Declan. He loved his younger cousins Johnny, Taylor and Jesse as if they were his own children.
He adored his younger siblings, Alysyn and Blake. He showered them with love and protection throughout his life. He was a loving son to his parents and his mother's constant companion. Charlie also adopted a man who had no family alive to love him. His loving, patient and protective friendship with Mr. Steven Solomon, a man with mental and physical limitations, was awe inspiring. Selfless to the end. Minutes before passing and suffering from intense pain his only concern was that he might miss his sister's birthday. They got to speak on the phone moments before he passed to say "I love you" to each other and he wished her a Happy Birthday. A moment she has to cherish for eternity. Charlie was an organ donor and will live on in the people who need these gifts.
Our family is comforted knowing Charlie is now reunited with his loving Grandfather John D. Hill who passed in 1992 that he loved and missed immensely. As well as all of the families furry friends that have crossed the rainbow bridge throughout the years. Predeceased by his Great Grandparents, Ernst and Caroline Lillienthal, Antonio and Josefina Nieves, Grandparents, Ernst and Louise Hirt.
He is survived by his parents, Stephen and Heidi Hill, Sister, Alysyn Bryan (Gary), Brother, Blake Hill (Christine), Grandmother Estella Hill, Uncle Richard Hirt (Debbie), Aunt Patricia A. Hill, Uncle Gerald Hill, Nephews Declan and Emery Hill, cousins Taylor Grover, John and Jesse Hill, and a million more cousins with the last names Trudden, Nieves, Butler and Hirt with a few Smiths,` Przetakiewiczs`, and Nocerinos`mixed in. Charlie lives on in all of our hearts forever.
We thank the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home for providing David Beardsley to care for our sons final needs. A fine gentleman who comforted us in a the most kindly manner. A celebration of our sons life will be announced when the date and location are finalized.
