NORWICH – Susan (Ellal) Babbitt, 75, passed away peacefully moments after her beloved daughter and granddaughter left her side on Saturday, Sept 22nd at Backus Hospital.
She was born in Norwich on April 29, 1943 to the late William and Mary (Bradley) Ellal. After graduating high school, Susan married her soul mate, Ernest “Gus” Babbitt. He predeceased her on November 30th, 2017.
Susan loved being a home maker and caring for her family. Cooking was her passion making everything from scratch, watching all the cooking shows but favoring Julia Child. Nothing warmed her heart more than watching family enjoy what she’d prepared.
She is survived by her daughter; Heather S. Hartley and her husband Jeff, her grandchildren; Jared and Haley along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.
