Shillo- Loretta M. (Cellucci) Shillo, 92, of Norwich CT, entered into her eternal life on April 15, 2015 at Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT. Born in Norwich Aug. 19, 1922, Loretta was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Coletti) Cellucci. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John Shillo, who died on January 10, 2005 after 62 years of marriage. She attended Greenville School and Norwich Free Academy and was retired from the State of Connecticut. A woman of very strong faith and devoted to her family, Loretta loved to entertain, and she treated her family and friends to many homemade Italian meals. She enjoyed going to the shore, flea markets and Ruby Tuesdays. She loved to play the piano and crochet, particularly while crocheting afghans for her grandchildren. Playing cards, especially with her grandchildren, was one of her favorite pastimes. She always had encouraging words to share with others, and she will be greatly missed by her family. Loretta is survived by her four children, Linda and Randy Pearson of Griswold CT, Carl and Marie Shillo of Manchester, CT., Deborah and her husband Charles Fisher of Mystic CT., and Donna and her husband Kostas Tsiskakis of Bonita Springs, FL.;seven grandchildren, Andrew and his wife Erin, and Alex Shillo, Christine and Annie Fisher, and John, Loretta, and Ellie Tsiskakis; one cousin Charles Colletti of Flusing NY; and several nieces and nephews. The youngest of eight children, Loretta was the last surviving member, predeceased by four brothers, Constance, Daniel, Anthony, and John Cellucci; three sisters, Carmella Rokowski, Mary Tringe, and Anne Luty. She is also predeceased by three grandchildren, Heather Pearson, John Shillo II, and Christina Tsiskakis. Calling hours will be at the Labenski Funeral Home 107 Boswell Avenue Norwich, CT on Tuesday April 21, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to any children’s hospital will be appreciated by the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter and Paul Church, 181 Elizabeth St, Norwich CT on Wednesday April 22, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. A luncheon will follow the church service.
