Preston-Karen Velma Spanos, age 71, passed away on October 6, 2024 at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London. She was born on August 21, 1953 in New London to the late Harry and Elizabeth (Arey) Rogers. She graduated from Fitch High School in 1971.
Karen’s love for animals led to her working in many different animal care fields with most of her career being in both small and large animal veterinary practices as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. She also enjoyed spending time with her horses and dogs at home who brought her great comfort during her battle with cancer.
She is survived by a son Timothy Spanos of Preston, a daughter Holly (Brandon) Morrow of St. Augustine, Florida and a daughter Erin Spanos of Preston. She also left behind her beloved Newfoundland, Breaker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Berner Inc the rescue tied to the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Nashoba Valley of which she was a member.
