He was born in Woonsocket, RI on August 19, 1925 to the late Joseph E. and Malvina (Allard) Gagnon. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII. He worked at Electric Boat as a pipe welder for 18 years.
Joseph was married in Paris in 1948 to Lucienne Crussaire who predececased him in February of this year. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; Gerard J. and Pamela Gagnon of Norwich,, two granddaughters, Jessica and Elizabeth, a sister-in-law, Andree Crussaire, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 5pm – 8pm at the Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10am. Burial will be private at the family plot in New Hampshire on Tuesday.
