Willodean "Dean/Bokay" Tyrrell, age 88, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. She was born on August 28, 1935, to the late Lenora and Andrew Taylor. She was the youngest of thirteen children.
She was born on a farm, moved to the city, lived abroad, and toured the world. She loved to share stories of her travels. She started her professional career as a legal secretary and ended her career as a realtor. Her passion was Alabama football, and she spent all day on Saturday's sitting before the TV watching sports. For the last few decades, she has held her extended family together from planning reunions to keeping them all informed about each other's growing families.
Willodean is survived by her sister, Earlene Farris, and a host of family members and friends.
A visitation for Willodean will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 3802 Watermelon Road, Northport, AL 35473, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM.
Serving as pallbearers are Greg Farris, Glenn Taylor, Roger Taylor, Randall Taylor, Robert Taylor, Gary Taylor, and Chuck Woody. Honorary pallbearers are Lewis Taylor and Billy Joe Dodd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made payable to North Alabama Children's Home.
