

Wilda Faye Perkins, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was born on September 1, 1946, in Tuscaloosa and remained deeply rooted in her community throughout her life.
Wilda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Joseph Perkins of Northport, Alabama; her children: Don Perkins (Dagmar) of Oppenheim, Germany; Michael Perkins (Jo) of Northport, Alabama; and Kimberly Thompson (Lee) of Northport, Alabama. Her legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren—with two more great-grandchildren expected soon.
She is also survived by her sisters: Wanda Booth (Allen) of Northport, Alabama; Diann Dozier of Carbon Hill, Alabama; and Sheila Stripling (Terry) of Jasper, Alabama. Wilda’s life was enriched by the bonds she shared with her family and the many memories they created together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Evelyn Nichols of Fayette, Alabama; her brother Nick Nichols of Kennedy, Alabama; her sister Floye Farley of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and her beloved twin sister Hilda Johnson of Northport, Alabama.
A woman of deep faith and commitment to service, Wilda was a longtime active member of Five Points Baptist Church in Northport. Her presence there was a source of strength and encouragement to many over the years.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Five Points Baptist Church located at 3718 36th Street in Northport. A funeral service will follow at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Wilda Faye Perkins will be remembered for the love she gave so freely and the steadfast spirit she carried throughout her life. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and cherished her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Five Points Baptist Church Children’s Ministry or to one’s favorite charity.
