Sandy Hall Hughes, age 26, of Coker, died July 31, 2010, at Northport Medical Center-DCH. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Robertson Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor J. Carrol Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Pate Cemetery in Buhl with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie and Mable Turner and Johnny B. Hall; and a special uncle, Buddy Hall.
Survivors include her fiancé, Jason Smith of Northport; her daughter, Kylie Lynn Hughes of Coker; her sister, Samantha Jo Hall of Coker; her parents, Darlene (Dean) and Johnny (David) Hall; and her grandmother, Mary Hall of Coker.
Sandy graduated from Cathedral Christian Academy. She battled a long illness that never got in the way of the love and care she had for Kylie. Sandy was a devoted mother, sister, and daughter. Her love for her daughter exceeded all else. She knew her Lord Jesus Christ. We know Sandy is with her Lord and will be missed beyond words. Sandy loved everyone and enjoyed any time that she had with them.
Pallbearers will be Luke Smelley, Charlie Smelley, Jared Turner, Jeremy Oswalt, Christopher Oswalt, Trey Turner, Anthony Turner, and Adam Barr.
Honorary pallbearers are Ronald and Sherry Hughes, Anthony Ivey, John and Joyce Edgeworth, Lorraine Farley, friends of Robertson Chapel Baptist Church, friends of the Waysider Restaurant, Mary and Tim Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Smith, friends of JB Halls Garage, friends of Coker and Buhl communities, and special thanks to Coker Volunteer Fire Dept. and Rescue.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sandy Hall Hughes Memorial Fund for Kylie Lynn Hughes, c/o Alabama One Credit Union, 1509 McFarland Blvd. N., Northport, AL 35476.
