Laura Montgomery Blanchard

Laura Montgomery Blanchard, age 74, of Northport, died July 23, 2011, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. David Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph Blanchard; parents, Comer Montgomery and Annie Mae Montgomery; brother, Olan Montgomery; and sister-in-law, Debra Montgomery.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Blanchard; sons, Mike Blanchard (Debbie) and Scott Blanchard (Jennifer); sister, Peggy Free (Doug); brother, Roger Montgomery (Katherine); sister-in-law, Shirley Montgomery; grandchildren, Stacie Boyd (Chris), Kellye Blanchard (Mark Campbell), Michael Blanchard, Jr., Cody Blanchard (Ashley Davis), Caleb Blanchard, and Josie Grace Blanchard; and great-grandchildren, Kristen Boyd, Kellyn Boyd, Khloe Boyd, and Tenley Blanchard.

Pallbearers will be Michael Blanchard, Jr., Cody Blanchard, Chris Boyd, Mark Campbell, Mark Montgomery, Jeff Montgomery, Tony Free, and Kenny Free.

Honorary pallbearers are Teresa Davis, Kim and Jamie of Amedisys Hospice, in home caregiver Romona Wright, Dr. Michael Straughn and staff, 7th floor Women's and Infants Center, Knights Sign Industries employers and employees, Blanchard Electric employees, members of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, past and present employees of Duckworth Morris Insurance, City of Northport employees, Birmingham Hematology & Oncology, and Sungaurd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Amedysis Hospice or Ovarian Cancer Center.
