Janice was born on a beautiful summer afternoon on the 27th of June in 1958 to the parents of the late Harvey H and Jnita (Jean) Bryant.
She began singing at the early age of three at Heath Baptist Church, along with her mother on the piano and brothers by her side. She confessed Christ and was baptized at the age of 7. She later on formed a gospel singing group with her sister and mother called the Bryant Trio traveling across the state of Alabama. She also sang with a country-western band, Steve James and the Randells. Music remained a significant part of her life into her adulthood, as she actively sang with various groups.
She graduated Glencoe High School in 1976 where she was a member of the Beta Club, and then went on to Gadsden State for two years before moving to Tuscaloosa to continue her education. She was a proud alumni of the University of Alabama where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Home Economics in May of 1982 and was an avid supporter of the Crimson Tide football team for years to come (ROLL TIDE!).
She used her design talents at City Furniture, while still in school, and Rags to Riches before starting her own interior design company until her health declined.
She founded a support group for those who were also impacted by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS) and was an advocate for research and bringing awareness to this misunderstood disease.
She enjoyed reading, movies, music, and never lost her great sense of humor (she enjoyed laughing most of all). Her outgoing personality was contagious and she never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her brother Ron Bryant. She leaves to cherish her everlasting memory to her sons Alexander James (Judith) and Corey (Patrick), two grand-daughters Daniela and Delaney, two brothers Bob (Kay) Bryant and Tommy Bryant, one sister Dawn (Mike) Parker, a host of nieces, and one nephew.
A private memorial service will be held with family at a later date.
