James H. Pickering, age 90, of Northport, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. James was born in Laurel, MS on May 16, 1931, the son of Paul and Myrtle Pickering. He served in the U.S. Air Force, later joining the family business in Laurel until moving to Northport, AL in 1974 where he was employed by the Federal Aviation Agency. He loved flying, boating, and fishing, as well as vacationing with friends and family on the Gulf Coast.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his son, James H. (Hal) Pickering, Jr., in 2003.
James is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pickering, his daughter, Cynthia Pickering-Alli, and his brother, Paul Pickering, Jr.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park.
