Patty passed peacefully in Squamish on May 10 surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 72.
Patish was born in Vancouver and raised on the North Shore as the middle child in a family of seven children.
Dordy was an enthusiastic athlete in her early years, playing basketball, softball and endeavouring in a variety of other sports. In more recent years, she enjoyed spectating at the athletic events of her grandchildren. She was also an avid fan of the Vancouver Canucks.
Patty retired in 2014 after nearly 30 years of employment with the City of North Vancouver where she held roles in the Mayor’s office and finally as liaison for Cemetary, Filming and Wharf Services.
Scoots is predeceased by her mother Margaret, father Leslie, brother Eddie and her wire haired fox terrier, Talia. Patty is survived by her three children Aimee (Jon), Deanna and Joe; her four grandchildren Annabelle, Emmeline, Ava and Wyatt; her siblings Linda (Doug), Rita, Joe (Rhonda), Anne (Garth) and Bill (Danielle); 11 nieces and nephews, 16 grandnieces and grandnephews; her two lifelong best friends Corinne and Francis (Ted), as well as many treasured friends and former colleagues.
Mom loved to laugh, being outside and believed that we should do unto others as we would have them do unto us. In times of difficulty or conflict she often reminded us of the power of love to bring us back to what mattered most. Above all else, Mom will be remembered for her love for her children, grandchildren, family and friends; her positivity, generous heart and vibrant smile.
The family would like to thank Dr Gornall, Dr Jung and Dr Leone, the nursing staff in the renal unit at St Paul’s Hospital; Dr Law and nurses at Whistler Blackcomb Sea to Sky Community Hospice for the care and support Patty received.
Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
