 I met Nigel some 35 years ago when I worked in his office as a locum.  Nigel was a real gentleman  and an excellent physician. He was refreshingly ethical and truly cared about his patients and practising medicine well for them . A short anecdote:
 Toward the end of his career Nigel assisted at multiple surgeries. I did the same. On one occasion while I was assisting in an orthopaedic procedure, I dropped one of the instruments. The nurse said “Sugar, you’re no Nigel Henderson“
 Thank you Nigel for helping us at the Palliative Support Centre. Always a  true pleasure .

I met Nigel when Pat formed our famous "Music Group" or as Pat referred to it," Our Musical Soirees". He was an interesting, kind, creative and humble man who loved to laugh and could respond with great wit.  I was privileged to see exhibitions of his art at the Gordon Smith Gallery and he would often have a new painting to show us at our Music Group.  Wonderfully varied compositions which became identifiable as his signature.  He faced his illness with stoicism and dignity, all the while helping his beloved Pat as she struggled with her disease. I will miss him very much.

Nigel was a fine gentleman,well liked, and admired by his patients and colleagues.
Stuart and Nigel were colleagues and spent many a time working late hours at Lions Gate Hospital.
.He was a great gardener and gardening became one of his hobbies.Nigel would often give me a root of a plant or some garlic bulbs to plant .Pat and I are in the same book group and I looked forward  going to their home to share our book of course and also to see Nigel’s wonderful garden .
Even though his health was failing he looked after Pat with great care and kindness.

Nigel was a great friend to me as is his wife Pat. Having a great love of art, we shared showing each other our paintings.  As he was a docent at the fabulous Gordon Smith Gallery, he introduced me to the gallery and I was able to see all his paintings when they were hung there.  I spent many happy hours with Nigel and Pats and we had many laughs together.  I have a friend who was a nurse when Nigel was working and said he always treated all the nurses and everyone he came in contact with with such kindness and appreciation.
He was a wonderful, humble man who will be greatly missed.

I will always remember Nigel fondly.  We initially met as board members of The Mount Seymour Art Gallery and soon realized that we were also neighbours. What followed was a friendship that lasted almost 20 years.  Soft spoken, he had a wicked sense of humour.  I enjoyed the many stories he told and the laughter that followed during our lunches.  We also enjoyed visiting the Gordon Smith Gallery and hitting a par three golf course. And, as the years passed, sometimes we would just go for a drive.  One memory that I will always remember fondly is having a simple, surgical procedure done at Lion’s Gate Hospital and opening my eyes to Nigel’s smiling blue eyes staring back at me.  Nigel was a very decent and gentle man and I will miss him.  Bill and Adele Barnett

Don and I met Nigel and Pat just 4 years ago when both families moved into our condo complex. Nigel and I quickly discovered that we’d both lived and worked in the very same places in England - at different times of course.  Oxford was a favourite for us both! 
We’ve watched him over the past 2 years diligently help to care for Pat in spite of his own considerable problems. He was such a kind, interesting, thoughtful man - a true English gentleman!

Nigel and Pat were my neighbours for over 30 years We were all so busy with work and families for the first part of that time but the last 15 years or so brought us much closer. Nigel was so very kind to me when I was dealing with my husbands illness and death.
I am happy to have 2 pieces of his art work in my home as well as 2 metal sculptures including a bird that he recently agreed I could call "Nigel".His beautiful gardens were works to behold. He was such an interesting man and I revelled in conversations with him and Pat. He was a great walker and was seen daily going or returning from a walk.
The few years since they moved we've managed to keep in touch and in recent years he was often spotted at Safeway being greeted by many who knew him.
My deepest sympathy is extended to Daphne and Marcus who are very close to my sons'ages and I watched them grow.
Condolences of course to my good friend Pat...what a loss to her.
I feel privileged to have had Nigel as a friend. Will miss him.
