Harvey Lyman, 89, of Burnaby BC passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1935 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, he was the only child of the late Sol and Blanche Lyman. Married for 66 years, he is survived by the love of his life Diane (Owen-Turner). He was a loving father to Dave (1962-1996) (Robin) and Lee-Ann (Warren) as well as grandfather to Chelsey (Nate) and Matthew (Jalena), and great-grandfather to Dane and Willow.
Harvey moved to Burnaby in 1948, starting high school at Burnaby South where he met Diane and began a love affair that would last for over 75 years. After high school, he began working at the Royal Bank, then for the Municipality of Burnaby. From there, he became an appraiser for the BC Assessment Authority where he remained until his retirement in 1989. Upon his retirement, Harvey and Diane quickly set down snowbird roots golfing in Arizona where they added to their many wonderful memories over the course of 25 years. Harvey will be remembered for many things by his family and friends, not the least of which is his countless stories, love of food, appreciation of scotch, and his wonderfully infectious smile.
In lieu of flowers, Harvey requested that donations be given to the Canadian Cancer Society.
