He will be deeply missed by his wife, Rosemary; his brother, Bob (Donna); his sister-in-law, Susan (Jim); sons Greg (Leanne) and Mike (Heather); his grandsons, Alec, Nathan, and James; his nieces and nephews, Lisa, Chris (Susanna), Colin (Jesse), Kayla (Sam), and Kevin (Tracy); and his many cousins all over Canada.
Born in Saint Boniface, Manitoba, Don grew up in Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Quesnel and subsequently worked for BC Rail 40 years as a Rail Traffic Controller.
He volunteered for over 40 years with Canadian Power and Sail Squadron, locally, regionally and nationally; his primary focus was on educating a safe boating society. His family has countless memories to cherish of sailing trips, games, and model trains.
Don always had a smile on his face and sound advice.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Holiday Inn in North Vancouver on March 25 from 1 pm to 4 pm.
We want to express our gratitude to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Clinic at Saint Paul’s Hospital and the North Shore Hospice for their care.
