As many women did, during the Second World War, she fell in love with a Canadian Air Force man. They were married and after the war they moved to his home in Boissevain, Manitoba and then to Vancouver, BC.
She will be so very missed by her three children, Marion (Glenn), Julie (Rick) and David. As well as by her grandchildren, Dale (Krista), Sheryl, Stephen (Sarah-Ellen), Jennifer (Corby) and Kristine (Conor) and, of course, her great grandson, Beau. Diana was so very proud and loving of every member of her family and never forgot a birthday or anniversary.
Mum attended every yearly Family Camp at Miracle Beach, Cultas Lake and Alice Lake until she was 94! Christmas was also a very special time and she would look forward to her annual martini!
She had a passion for movies and the theatre, belonging to the Arts Club and Vancouver Playhouse for many years. Travelling was also loved very much, and some of her happiest times were in the hot tub and pool at Palm Springs.
Reading, knitting and doing crossword puzzles and cryptograms were things she excelled at. Trivia – she would know the answer to anything you asked (our very own “Google”). Her wide knowledge of current events, sports, etc., plus her outgoing personality, enabled her to talk to anybody about anything.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.firstmemorialnorthvancouver.com for the Armstrong family.
