It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Aida Villaruz, of Vancouver on 14th of November at the age of 92.
Aida will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Gregoria and Edith; her nephews; niece-in-laws; grand nephews and grandniece.
Aida was born in the Philippines in 1932 to Alfonso and Amparo. She received a degree in Commerce, majoring in banking and finance, and minor in accounting from Central Philippine University, a prestigious private American university. Prior to immigrating to Vancouver Canada, she held a high position of chief accountant in California Manufacturing Company, Makati, Philippines.
The following chapter in Aida’s life opened up in 1968 when she immigrated to Vancouver Canada to be with her sisters. She had the privilege of working in Le Kiu Importing company in China Town for 35 wonderful years.
During her lifetime, Aida had lived a full life. She was a woman of many passions including, skiing, hiking, swimming, gardening, traveling and reading. Aida was a remarkable person, undeniably popular with friends, and extended family.
Aida will also be dearly missed by her friends of Birthday Group as well as longtime friends at work.
A Visitation Service will be held at 10 to 11 am, on November 30th at First Memorial Funeral Services & Boal Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 1505 Lillooet Rd, North Vancouver, BC, V7J2J1, while the Interment will be held at 3 pm, on December 6th, at Boal Chapel and Memorial Gardens also.
