She was a 1958 graduate of Grant Community High School in Fox Lake, IL. Sharon was a loving homemaker for her family, along with the years employed as an executive secretary.
Sharon is survived by her devoted husband and companion of 26 years, Brac Carr; son Bennett (Dawn) Brown; loving stepdaughters Suzanne and Carolyn Carr; step-son Kett (Christina); sister, Patricia (Patrick) Stagg and brother, Kenneth (Jo) Minahan. Grandchildren, Sandy (Alex) Brown-Rico, Jessica, Jody, Megan Brown and Tiffany (Alan) Tucci; grandsons, Ryan and Michael Brown; step-grandchildren Christine, Alyssa, Becca, Jessica and Matthew Carr; eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her father John Boyle; mother Helen (Boyle) Minahan, stepfather Kenneth Minahan; sister, Kathleen (Ray) Piasecki, son Scott (Shirley) Brown, stepson Scott (Gayle) Carr and nephew Timothy Stagg.
Sharon, known as “Mimi” was blessed with a loving family and grandchildren who referred to her as their “best friend”. Her most precious times were those spent with each one as they always let her know how special she was to them.
Sharon survived a fall from a second story porch to the ground when she was three years old, which gave her the incentive to stay strong and healthy as possible. Everyone felt welcome at her home, as she was an excellent hostess for many gatherings of family and friends. Sharon was a “classy” lady who enjoyed travel, loved reading, shopping, walking in quiet areas, and discussing world events. Even with strangers who would cross her path. She also supported a child through World Vision. Everyone who knew her, both family and friends remember her as being sweet, kind, and loving. Sharon began each morning with prayer and meditation in her car with a Starbucks coffee. Jesus was her Savior, and she knew one day she would safely stand in His presence as promised in New Testament Scripture: John 3:16 and John 14:2-3. A summertime memorial gathering is planned.
“We love you dearly Sharon and will miss you always, but look forward to when we will see you again.”
