Raymond Henry Frederick Jr.

Raymond was born in Norfolk, VA on July 6, 1925. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, NJ, and went on to obtain his BA Business degree from Tusculum College in Greenville, TN. He also received a MBA in Business Administration from Temple University in 1955.

On July 31, 1954, Raymond married Theresa Carmichael. They were married for 40 years until Theresa’s death on March 1, 1994.

Raymond was a computer systems analyst for the Federal Government, Department of the Navy for about 12 years. He was also the Comptroller of the Navy in Washington, D.C. from 1965-1977, as well as a Senior Industrial Engineer from 1955-1957. Raymond was also the project manager for the analysis and development of hardware and software systems for Command and Control applications. Between Raymond's enlistments in WWII and the Korean War, he worked as a beach lifeguard during the summer seasons along the South Jersey shore in Wildwood, NJ.

After his retirement, Raymond moved to Palm Beach Gardens, FL in 1977 where he enjoyed the warmth of South Florida for 46 years. He also kept active during his retirement with various hobbies and interests. He was a collector of Breweriana, advertising and sports collectibles along with his youngest son, Ron. This brought him in touch with so many people prior to the development of the internet. He along with his wife and son Ron would travel during the summers to many conventions to buy/sell/trade items for their collections at home.

Raymond is survived by his son Raymond H. and Bonnie D. Frederick III, son Ronald S. Frederick, daughter Linda J. and Joseph B. Hagin, and grandson Joseph B. and Courtney Hagin III. He is preceded in death by his wife Theresa J. Frederick.

Ray was the kindest, most generous person you would ever meet, and he will be greatly missed.

A private family funeral service for Raymond will be held Sunday, June 18, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral Cremation and Event Center, 754 Us Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
