12/04/1945-09/14/2016
Kenneth Whalen born in New York City, New York returned home to heaven on September 14, 2016 to be with his loving family awaiting him in the Kingdom of Heaven. Ken led a full and happy life surrounded by the people he loved and the people that he leaves behind that will miss his laugh, his razor sharp wit, his corny songs, his beautiful blue eyes that shined even in the darkest of times, and the genuine love that he felt for his family and friends.
Ken leaves behind his loving wife and “honeymoon” Betty with whom he spent the majority of his life and where the happiest of memories were made. Ken’s life would not have been as fulfilling and happy without the light of his life, no one made him smile more than Betty and no one will miss him more than her.
Also left behind are Ken’s most valued possessions, his children, his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren. Always a loving father, Ken would do anything for his children and often did all the things that fathers and grandfathers do because he loved to be with his family.
Ken will be missed by so many and his peace will comfort those that are left behind, but he will never be forgotten and the love we all hold for him will remain eternally.
In addition to Kenneth’s wife, he reluctantly leaves behind six children, Cindi Stage, Lisa Megill, Thomas Megill, Marjorie Megill, John Whalen, and Shannon Whalen-Desouza. Grandchildren- Joseph Evancik, Christopher Stage, Jessica Francisco, Brittany Stage, Alicia Megill, Mellissa Megill, Thomas Megill, Bailey Whalen, Bradi Whalen, Brody Whalen, and was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter Gabriella Desouza. Great Grandchildren Cameron Stage, Christian Francisco, Leland Franciso, Jaxxon Francisco, Kayden Evancik and Adrian Megill. Kenneth leaves behind his beloved kid sister Arleen Donovan, nephew Daniel Donovan, Niece Joann Zimmerman Kardoulis, Nephews Sean Whalen and Kelly Whalen, and cousins Lillian Huffman, Nancy Sheehey, Eileen Lennon, and Kate Armstrong, along with many many other relatives and friends. Ken will join his Mother Marjorie Kiernan Whalen, his father John Vincent Whalen, His Brother James Whalen, and his sister Joan Whalen Zimmerman and other beloved family members that preceded him in eternal rest. With such a large family both here and in heaven we know that they will celebrate his homecoming with an Irish Jig and a welcome home party for him.
