Anne Strauff Joslin of Juno Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024. Anne was 99, born August 22, 1924, in Baltimore, Md, the daughter of Loretta Mary Philbin and Edward August Strauff. Anne graduated from Randolf-Macon Women’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia.
In 1946, Anne married Charles Loring Joslin Jr, a Navy fighter pilot. They spent many years moving around the United States. Charles passed away in March, 2003.
Survivors include her loving children, Chip, Michael, Hunter, and Loretta. She was preceded in death by daughter Anne Bevan Joslin.
Her 6 grandchildren are Kimmell, Skip, Blanche, Dylan, Mitchell, and Shellby and ten great-grandchildren.
Anne’s remaining sister is Joan Howe of Annapolis, Maryland. Anne was preceded in death by her sisters Loretta Eaton and Mary Lina Kosiki.
Anne dedicated her life to helping people and children in need, including being a guardian ad litem. Anne had a mischievous sense of humor and enjoyed being fashionable, athletic, and very adventurous. She danced, skied, skated, hiked, rode a camel and an elephant, and traveled to over 45 countries. She swam with dolphins, climbed Macchu Picchu, zip-lined in Costa Rica, and went riding in a Navy nuclear submarine. She brought fun and joy with her wherever she went. (And a hat, of course!)
There will be a family memorial service in Juno Beach, Florida, on February 2, 2024.
