Born in Jacmel, Haiti to the late Ilsappelle and Lormana (Toussaint) Leveille, Jean Remy dedicated his life to serving God and his community. His unwavering faith was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him through both joyful and challenging times. Jean Remy cherished his family above all, referring to his children as his greatest investments, nurturing deep bonds with his loved ones, and always prioritizing their well-being.
A true friend to many, Jean Remy had a unique gift for bringing people together. He respected everyone, from the littlest child to the wisest elder, treating each person with kindness and dignity. His laughter was infectious, and he had a talent for telling jokes that would light up any room. His zest for life inspired those around him to appreciate the little things and find joy in everyday moments.
Jean Remy strongly believed in the power of positivity and often spoke out against negativity, including the use of curse words. He encouraged others to uplift one another, fostering an environment of love and respect.
As a young man, Jean Remy worked as a welder. More recently, he was a security guard for Reading Area Community College for a number of years. In 2021, he retired from work as an assembler at Birdsboro Kosher Farms.
Jean Remy was a devout member of Eglise de Dieu de l'Apocalypse.
He is survived by daughter, Widmy Leveille-Orion, wife of Fritz-Gerald, of Binghamtom, NY; sons: Rems Leveille, husband of Jennyfer, of Springfield, MO, Stanley Jean of (city), Florida, Remsky Leveille, husband of Tashauna, of Harrisburg, PA, and Renel Leveille of Reading; grandchildren:Junior Lamarre, Redje Leveille, Rachel Leveille, Raphyel Leveille, Fallen Leveille, Brooklyn Leveille, Legend Leveille, Francis-Gemawry Orion, Briana P.P., and Wyshelle L. Orion; siblings: Abethlehem, Irese, Ilonelle, Joseph, and Marie Louise Leveille; and countless nieces and nephews: Benson, Benerose, Mario, Spenson, Stibene, Sapelo, Louise, Lydie, Jacelle, Jean Marie, Eddinada, Emmanuel, Dieunie, Dina, Clutine, Michelle, Marjorie, Myrlande, Makewane, Nadine, Napel, Sabine, Petit-Frere, Alexandrine, and Graham to name a few.
Jean Remy will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for his unwavering faith, joyful spirit, and profound love for those around.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Avenue West Reading, PA 19611. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
