Having celebrated his 77th birthday and 41st wedding anniversary in recent months, Charles E. (Chuck) Wallace, Jr. left us early Monday morning, with Ileene, his adoring and adored wife, by his side. Strong of spirit and soul, Chuck was born to Charles E., Sr. and Norma Wallace in Washington D.C. on Sept. 8, 1939. Brother to Kathy Staub (Richard) and Trish Lemon (Robert), Chuck grew to be a noted builder, contractor, commercial pilot and certified racing-sailboat enthusiast. Southern-bred, Chuck liked to think of himself as a good-ole boy from old Central Florida. Actually, he lived in and loved Bay Harbor Islands, his home for the last 44 years where he served on the “Visioning Committee” and chaired the Design Review Committee from 2005-2009. In addition to his positions as an officer and director on numerous civic, trade and corporate boards, he was most proud of constructing multiple pavilions at the New York and Montreal World's Fairs. Step-father and friend to Dr. Keith Ruskin (Dr. Anna) and Karen Dalton (Jim), and ”Grandpa Chuck” to Mollie, Brad and Daniel, Louis and Joel, he also leaves behind many devoted nieces, a nephew, and former daughter-in-law Dr. Andrea Ruskin. Most folks thought of Chuck as an all-around good guy, friend and neighbor.
