Stephanie Price is someone you never forget meeting.  She came into my photography class with a mature talent and articulation of goals I found refreshing and inspiring...as a teacher, I wanted to work hard for her.  She was young and beautiful and honest and clearly ready to face any and every project.  Soon she became an assistant teacher and then a full teacher herself.  She pushed her own art and her students...opening up entirely new ways of looking at people and places.  She loved Arkansas, her family, Scott...and had many stories to tell and a desire to document rare, fleeting moments.  Of all her photography, the portraits showed a quality of delicacy, decency and true conviction to present the person, the genuine article.  Her portrait of her beloved grandmother showed a slight, fragile woman, lovely and strong...thoughtful and whole...and it was a simple shot...just a woman detailed in front of a black background.  Stephanie didn't need much more than that to find truth.   She worked hard and back then I was sure she would find the truth of the world with her camera.  Anyone with an art piece by Stephanie Price is special...blessed (and I don't use this word lightly).  I wish her heart had found its place in this world and a long life had been in her future.  I wish she were here today and we could talk it out...with a little music in the background and her pets at her feet.  Stephanie, you are missed. 

High School Band.  A french horn player named Stephanie.  Some of the favorite memories from my life surround the relationships I was fortunate enough to make at Northeast High School...and more specifically the times in band...the times when we laughed and struggled to make a certain formation...or play in tune...or just hanging out together in the football stands...or at a pizza place.    Stephanie was (and is) a cherished member of this family even as the currents of life take us in different directions.  The emotions from hearing of Stephanie's loss are deep, even though I am looking back through the lens of time, about 30 years or so, to those few years in High School when our paths crossed.  She was sweet and beautiful and witty and...I think there are a lot of people I know who would like the chance to see you, talk to you and give you a hug.  Stephanie had an eye for capturing life in all its pageantry from behind a camera lens.    One of my regrets standing where I am today is not having acquired and celebrated her art with a photo from this phase of her life.  She was talented!  If I could say a few words to you now Stephanie I would tell you that a lot of people were lucky to feel the comfort of your spirit and loved you.  I am one of them.

Stephanie had a unique way of observing and communicating with the world around and within her. I met her in college when I was a model for her Drawing class. We became acquaintances, then friends. 
She always seem to have some sort of creative project going on and I would stand in awe at her artist's heart and her singular soul.  Sympathy and condolences to her family and friends. She was and is loved.


I met Stephanie Bliss Price at UALR when we were first students there around 1991 and we have been friends ever since. She was unique in the best of ways. I called her Miss Bliss and she called me Shaynie. She has a sweet soul & was an enormously talented artist. Her quirks and mine seemed to fit together well. The last time we really hung out together was in the summer of 2015. I am saddened we sort of lost touch over the past few years. She has certainly left a permanent thumbprint on my heart & I wish I could tell her that. I will always treasure the many fun times we’ve had together and I will truly miss her.

I miss you girl. You will always be my lil sis! Rest in peace.  Much love always. 

I have fond memories of Stephanie from our 'growing up' days at Landmark.  She was a sweet person and very kind to me.
