Neil Richard Carpenter

from Parkinson’s Disease that he battled for the past 7 years.

Neil was born on September 22, 1940 to Reita and Harold Carpenter in Ballston Spa,

New York. Neil served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He moved to

Belleview, Florida in 1986 and became an accountant where he worked at Marriott’s

Courtyard and then became the General Manager at Marriott’s Fairfield Inn, located in

Ocala, Florida. Neil was a beloved employee there for 17 years.

Neil retired in 2007 but he was still very active in his church and community. Neil loved

sports like basketball and football! It was amazing how he could name the teams, the

players, the championship dates or anything affiliated with sports at any given moment!

Neil also loved playing golf but wasn’t able to do that much in the past couple of years

but he was such a happy and positive person always telling corny jokes and even in his

last days he sure didn’t lose his sense of humor!

Neil will be missed dearly by his entire family and the many friends he made throughout

his lifetime and we rejoice that we will see him again someday in Heaven where he is

celebrating now with his loved ones.

Neil was surrounded by a large, loving family and is survived by his wife Reta whom he

married in 2010; Daughter, Megan and her husband Davey; Son, Craig and his wife

Connie; Granddaughters, Alyssa, Alex and Kendall; Step-daughters Debbie, Darla and

their families; Sisters, Mable and Audrey; Nieces, Karen, Sally, Nancy, Donna, Cindy,

and their families; Nephews, Mike, Richard, Gary, Sam and their families.

Neil was predeceased by his parents Reita and Harold Carpenter, sister Janet and late

wife Susan.

Service will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 5750 SE 115th St, Belleview, FL

34420, Florida, on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 2:00pm. Refreshments will be served in

the church hall after the service for all who want to gather together.
