GERALDINE "GERRI" DAVIS, 84, of Sherwood passed away April 27, 2020. She was born on July 10, 1935 in Athens, Ark., to the late Coy "Doc" Parsons and Elizabeth Marie McCorkle Parsons. She had one brother who preceded her in death, Charles "Buck" Parsons. She is survived by her husband, Lovel E. Davis; son, Gregory L. (Lisa) Davis, and granddaughter, Maya Henderson. Other survivors include special sister-in-laws, Geneva Jauch of Heber Springs, Ark. and Loreda Ellis of Clinton, Ark., many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She attended Capitol City Business College upon high school graduation in 1954. She and Lovel were married on November 9, 1956 in Little Rock, Ark. They lived in Little Rock and North Little Rock before moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where their son, Greg, was born. They returned to Arkansas in 1972 and made Sherwood, Ark. their home. She worked as an accountant for Rector, Phillips, Morse and retired after 34 years.
She was a member of Somers Avenue Church of Christ. She enjoyed the ladies bible class and the volunteer work of knitting hats for newborn babies at Arkansas Children's Hospital. She was an avid gardener of both vegetables and flowers and collector of rooster plates and figurines. She also accumulated a large collection of cookbooks. She was known for baking her special coconut cream pies and was often referred to as "the pie lady." She loved spending time with her beloved family, especially during the holidays. She was a beautiful, loving person to have known. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
