Georgia L. “Gigi” Parks went home to be with the Lord March 28, 2017. She was born in Morrilton, AR on August 6, 1929. Georgia was very well known to her family and friends as Gigi. She will be dearly missed by all that were fortunate enough to have known her. She was employed by JC Penney Co., and worked in the cash office for many years. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her happiest times were attending their baseball games, dance recitals, and other activities. She adored her great grandchildren and was so excited that Jace and Ella were playing baseball, her favorite sport. Gigi loved the Razorbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals and listened on the radio when they weren’t being televised. Gigi thoroughly enjoyed living her last three years at Brookdale Pleasant Hills. The friends she made there became family to her and she was so blessed by those relationships. Gigi was a devout Christian and was a faithful member of Berean Baptist Church for over 50 years and also a member of New Life Church for the past ten years. She loved her family and her church and was an exceptional wife, Mother, Mother in law, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Walsie Long, her husband of 52 years, Warren(Tony) ; sisters, Helen Millar, Martha Sue O’Bannon, Elizabeth Fulkerson; a brother, Sonny Mack Earl Long. She is survived by her children, David (Celeste) Parks of Maumelle, Julie (David) Duke of Conway; her grandchildren, Kristen (Brett) Morris and Justin (Meranda) Parks, all of Maumelle, Katie Duke of Fayetteville, and Jacob (Rebecca) Duke of Conway. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Jace Parks, Ella Morris and Maddie Morris; and siblings Betty Hill, Carl (Katherine)Long, and David Long. Visitation will be held at 9:00am on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd. North Little Rock, AR 72117. Funeral will begin at 10:00am.
