Fred Nevin Brown, 87, of Bryant, AR, passed away peacefully on July 6th, 2024, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Sue; daughter Kristine Huey (Joe) of Benton, AR; granddaughters Kaitlyn (Tommy) Wedge of Jacksonville, AR, and Kassidy (Cameron) Engstrom of Bryant, AR. He is preceded in death by his parents, William N. and Bertha Brown, and his five brothers William R. Brown, Edward N. Brown, Robert R. Brown, Thomas A. Brown, and John T. Brown.
Fred joined the US Air Force in 1956, during which he had deployments overseas in Africa and Goose Bay, Labrador. Following his retirement from the Air Force in 1976, Fred continued to work many more years at the Little Rock Veterans Hospital and Arkansas Children's Hospital as a biomedical engineering technician, where he took great pride in his abilities and work ethic. Fred cherished his time with family and friends and had a passion for woodworking. He used his woodworking talents to serve the church, a contribution that greatly benefited the community and deepened his faith. His dedication to the church not only brought him closer to the congregation but also strengthened his spiritual journey.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 25th, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. at Griffin-Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock, AR 72117. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Bill Haynie officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. at the State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR.
