Judy DeMauro

Judith Ann (Judy) DeMauro, 79, of Delray Beach, FL, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away on December 5, 2024, after a recent diagnosis of advanced bone cancer. Judy was predeceased by her dear parents, Sam and Betty DeMauro; her beloved older brother Peter DeMauro; and her cherished cousins Robert and Kimberly Middleton.

Judy was born in Canastota, NY, and throughout her life, she embodied love, compassion, and generosity. She expressed her care for others through her incredible Italian cooking, delicious cookies, and warm hospitality - qualities that made her deeply loved by all who knew her.

A graduate of Onondaga Community College, Judy began her career with a buyer’s internship at Macy’s, which eventually led her to a pinnacle role as Executive Vice President of Added Dimensions, a plus-size retail women’s clothing chain. She was an inspiration to her family, friends, and colleagues, motivating many to pursue their own professional dreams. After Added Dimensions was acquired by a larger chain, Judy transitioned to a successful second career in real estate, most recently for Century 21 Real Estate. She continued working until her hospitalization just a week ago.

Judy is survived by the many who loved her, most notably her devoted husband of 44 years Howard Markowitz. They were the loves of each other’s lives. She also leaves behind her nieces, Lisa, Gina and Nicole DeMauro and their mother Carole; her stepdaughter Deb Best (Joel); her grandchild Lynx; her stepson Rob Markowitz (Maggie); her cousin Ann Middleton, her grand cousins, Jacob Middleton (Hannah) and Zack Middleton (Madi); and her adopted grandchildren Reid and Spencer Moreno and their parents Suzanne and Chris. She will be fondly remembered by her niece, Heidi Swersie; her team at Century 21; and many more relatives, friends and colleagues.

A funeral service of remembrance will be held on Sunday, December 15th at 2:45 PM at the Star of David Funeral Chapel 7701 Bailey Rd, North Lauderdale, FL. 33068
