Mattie Jackson was born on September 14th, 1914 to the late Elma and Charles Torry in Holmes County Lexington, Mississippi. She was the first on 9 children, she had 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Henry (passed), Walter (passed), Willie (passed), Katie (passed), Lela, Rosetta, Robert (passed), and James Otha (passed). She is survived by her 2 remaining sisters Lela Park of Pacoima, CA and Rosetta Jordan of Lancaster, CA. She attended Gibson School in Lexington, Mississippi. She then met and married the love of her life, Joseph Jackson on August 10th, 1937. She relocated to Pacoima, CA March 2nd in 1969 with 11 children. She is survived by a host of more than 337 nieces, nephews, cousins, grand, great grand, great-great grandchildren and close friends.
