Relatives and friends of William Colvin are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 12 Noon, Friday, December 27, 2024, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday.
William was born in Danby, Vermont on October 15, 1948. He was the son of Vollie and Shirley Colvin.
Bill graduated from Wallingford High School in 1966. He joined the United States Air Force in 1967 and honorably served his country as a flight engineer during the Vietnam War. He made Charleston his home in the early 70’s and married his wife, Brenda, on December 19, 1980. He was a part of Shop 31 and a Nuclear Inspector at the Navy Shipyard. He retired from both the Navy Shipyard and Westvaco and was a Past-Master at Hammerton Lodge in North Charleston.
In his free-time he loved to work in his garage, fish, hunt, and spend time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and “Papa” with a kind heart and a great sense of humor. Bill loved his family, friends and the Lord and he will be missed by all. Rest in peace and God bless you.
Bill is survived by his wife, Brenda Colvin; his children, Amanda Shea (David), Allyson Price (Josh) and Shannon Welty; grandsons, William Kelly, Jackson Shea, Elyas Price and Josh Welty; his siblings, Timothy Colvin (Anne), Paula Platt (Don), Suzanne Colvin, and Perry Colvin. He was
predeceased by his father, Vollie Colvin; his mother, Shirley Colvin; his brother, Edwin Colvin; his daughter, Megan Colvin and his grandson, Cody Welty.
