Stephen served as Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy as a Nuclear Machinist Mate and retired in 1991. During his naval career, Stephen was diagnosed with MS in 1985. Following his retirement, he worked for the Navy at Bushy Park.
In his youth, he was an avid water skier, loved slow and fast pitch softball and bowling. You would often find him at the JI Senior Center playing cards.
Stephen is survived by his wife Linda; and one son, Stanley (Quana) of Fort Collins, CO. He has three sisters, Elaine Murry of Burlington, KY; Marilyn Woods (Barry) of Walton, KY; and Lois Davenport of Florence, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William R. Frederick and Geneva Frederick.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday April 19,2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. A Celebration of Life will follow from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Chapel. Burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
