Stanley H Godfrey, 84, of Hanahan, SC entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife Gerarda Pineda Godfrey, his parents Fannie Martin and Vaughn Godfrey and his siblings Joseph Godfrey and Nancy Bennett. He is survived by his daughters Teresa Godfrey, Sharyn Kervyn and Janet Godfrey, their husbands, his grandchildren Heather, Alexander, Ryan and Chandler, his siblings and an extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born in Snow Hill Maryland, Stan joined the US Air Force and served in both the Korean and Vietnamese conflicts. After retiring from the military, he and his family opened The Oriental Cuisine, one of the first Asian restaurants in the Charleston Area.
A requiem mass will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 9:30 am at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 1106 Fort Drive, Hanahan, SC. A procession led by the Patriot Guard and Law Riders will proceed to Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC. for the inurnment. A reception and Celebration of Life memorial will follow in the parlor at Carolina Memorial funeral home following the gravesite service.
