Norm was born in New Eagle, Pennsylvania and his middle name given after the physician that delivered him. His parents James and Margaret Laird had five boys. Norm joined the military where he proudly served his country as a Military Police Soldier in the United States Army until 1965. Once honorably discharged, he began his career in Federal Corrections. He retired in 1992 and found his forever home in Goose Creek South Carolina with the love of his life, his wife Elizabeth Laird.
After retiring, Norm became a pilot and enjoyed traveling the United States with his wife and seeing new places. Norm was an avid golfer, playing three times per week. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, and the lush green landscape of the golf course. He very much enjoyed the social interactions of his many close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents (Margaret and James), his wife Elizabeth, his brothers Joe, Jim, and Clem, his grandson Zach, and his great granddaughter Zoe.
He is survived by his brother Dave, his children, (Sheila, Norman Jr, Shana, and Kelli), his grandchildren (Mike, Justin, Connor, Emma Jean), his great grandchildren (Nick, Adalee) and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. His friend and companion Bonnie Griffith, and his many wonderful friends.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 4th, 2022, at 6:30PM at:
