Lennis Beach Driggers

My wife, Lennis Beach Driggers, was born into a loving family in Walterboro, SC on June 11, 1956. Being born into a family such as hers, gave her valuable life lessons that helped mold her into the person we all know and love.

After graduating from Walterboro High School, Lennis and I started our journey in marriage and moved to begin our lives and love in North Charleston, SC. I know there have been many love stories written about great loves on this earth, but this one was meant to be. I also know that no love, but the Love of God is perfect, but in my mind the memories made, and the love shared by both Lennis and me, connected us as God intended and mirrored the greatest love of all, the love of God.

Very soon after our marriage, God gifted Lennis and me with two glorious sons, Edward and Michael and our little family grew up together in love and support for each other. No one has a perfect life, but Lennis did all she could to make our family’s life as perfect as possible, through the love we all felt from her. Lennis’s boys wanted for nothing. She was their best and loudest cheer leader (cow bell and all) and their most fervent advocate. No other love, than that of God, could match the love Lennis had for our boys. I believe that when Paul was inspired by God to write 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7, he had Lennis in mind. Please enjoy this reading with me: 4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[b] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Many years would pass, but it would not seem as many as it was, our sons would grow and go to find their dreams and begin their own paths in life.

As Lennis’s and my little family grew in love, life and number, God showed up and showed off again and through the bonds of marriage, gifting Lennis and me the apples of our eyes. Two beautiful grandbabies, Macy and Shane. Lennis loved to spend time with them and travel with them and teach them by way of how she was taught the value of love and family on this earth.

Lennis enjoyed anything to do with raising and loving on her grandbabies, being at all their events and supporting her family in all they did. She enjoyed feeding everyone and taking care of any babies that were entrusted to her care. But most importantly she, took care of me, her beloved Eddie. Lennis was the Proverbs 31 wife and for that I am eternally thankful.

She loved traveling with friends and extended family and loved all who passed through her door. She enriched so many lives by her loving kindness and beautiful way, that only God knows all who benefited knowing my sweet Lennis.

Lennis is survived by her husband, Ely E. (Eddie) Driggers Jr. of North Charleston, SC, two sons Ely Edward Driggers III of North Charleston, SC and Michael Shane Driggers (Tracey and grandchildren Macy and Shane) of Meggett, SC. Three brothers, Kenny Beach of Walterboro, SC, Allen Beach (Donna) of Brunson, SC, and Dennis Beach (Yvonne) of Beaufort, SC. A half-sister Lynn Shaw (Stephen) of Brooklet, GA. And many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lennis is predeceased by: Mother Willa Dean Beach, Father Bo Beach, a brother Randy Beach and her father-in-law Ely (Bubba) Driggers, and mother-in-law Grace Tomkinson Driggers.

She will be missed and loved forever.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremation located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. 843-797-2222. Lennis’ Celebration of Life service will follow in the chapel at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park.
