Johnnie was born in St. George, South Carolina on September 21, 1945. He was the son of Levey and Maude Bailey.
Johnnie (John) attended University of South Carolina. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman Petty Officer 2nd Class (HM2). John retired from FedEx and enjoyed traveling and boating.
Johnnie is survived by his siblings, Mattie Gregg of Bonneau, SC, Lenwood Bailey of James Island, SC, and Roberta Albers of Huger, SC as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levey and Maude Bailey of Charleston and his brother, Levey (Jack) Bailey Jr. of Ladson, SC.
