Janice Carolyn Walsh Boles, affectionately known as “Memmaw,” of North Charleston, SC peacefully passed away at her home July 10th, 2024. Janice was born October 15, 1940. She is the daughter of the late Thelma Hill Walsh and James Otis Walsh.
Janice graduated from North Charleston high school in 1958. Soon after, Janice began her US government career at the federal building in downtown Charleston as a supervisory switch board operator. After nearly 40 years of federal service, she retired from naval facilities engineering command as administrative assistant and a drafts person. Janice enjoyed her church family and friends and spending time will her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Janice’s life was a testament to her remarkable faith and unwavering love of the Lord. Her role as mother and her devotion to her family left a profound impact, and though she may no longer be physically present, her love continues to guide and inspire those who knew her. Pastor Bryan’s words about her joy upon meeting Jesus reflect the hope and comfort her faith provided throughout her life. Janice is predeceased by her husband, her childhood sweetheart, Nolan Albert Boles, and her beloved son Nolan David Boles. She is survived by her daughters Lisa DeLeon and Kelly Braswell (Philip), Barara Lynn Cavaliere (Greg), Jennifer Boles (Nolan); grandchildren: Golden DeLeon (Beth), Jason DeLeon (Kate), Delinda Martin (Steven), Sarah Prestera (Lucas), Nolan Ross Boles; and great grandchildren: Jazlyn Wilson, Roman Prestera, Aaliyah and Skarlett Martin.
The family would like to thank the Amedisys Hospice care nurses, doctors, CMA’s and social workers for their kindness and support during Janice’s transition. The family would also like to thank Pastor Bryan Ayer of Holmes Baptist church for his love, guidance and support during this time.
