Jane Patricia Groves

Patricia Jane Tisdale Reynolds Groves, known affectionately as MeMe, peacefully passed on Friday October 16th, 2020 age of 92. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert William and Adele Strong Tisdale. Also, by brothers and sisters Luther, Thera, Ruth, Glen, Gilbert, Davis,Robert, JE and daughter Cynthia Jane Paris.

Jane was born and raised on a farm in Salters SC. At the age of 18 she attended a tent revival in Kingstree and was converted into the Seventh-Day Adventist faith. She went on to attend Southern Missionary College near Chattanooga TN graduating with an RN degree in 1952. She payed for her tuition by selling Bible Story books in the summer.

She married Darrel Glenn Reynolds Jr in 1954, they moved to Texas and while Darrel attended A&M Jane worked at St Mary’s and had three children all Aggies! During the 11 years of their marriage they went through some very traumatic experiences. She never lost her faith, instead she dedicated her children’s lives as well as her own to Jesus Christ and taught them to work hard at serving others as well as in nursing.

Later on while working in a VA hospital she met her 2nd husband Edgar Groves whom she referred to as “the love of her life” they were married until he passed in 2003.

She is survived by two children Darrel Glen Reynolds III, and Sandra Patrick. Also, by grandchildren Ian Patrick, Ryan Reynolds, Thompson, Taylor and Sarah Paris and 5 great grandchildren whom she adored.

Jane’s viewing (11:00am) and graveside service (noon) will be held on October 22nd, 2020 at Carolina Memorial on River’s Ave, North Charleston SC.
