This woman of great personal accomplishment leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion to others, service and devotion to her Lord, and support and adoration to her family. A lifelong learner, she was a passionate advocate for her community, serving in countless capacities over the 75-plus years she called Charleston home. She freely shared her spirit and energy and was an uplifting resource and mentor to many. She readily entertained with her storytelling skills, fascinated through her seamstress accomplishments and mystified with her never-ending optimism. She meant something different to everyone who knew her, but she will be equally missed by them all.
She now enjoys eternal peace with her Lord, alongside her identical twin, Virginia Daire Hanna, of Covington, Georgia, who preceded her in death on December 31, 2014.
Her final months were stewarded by a number of dedicated professionals along with compassionate friends and family, who cradled and comforted her to her last breath. The masters of compassion at Agape Care (Melissa, Ashley, Sandrea, Roger and Gina), the team at SC House Calls (Kelly), and neighborly God-sends Beth, Linda and Laura helped to ease and guide her path.
A Celebration of Claire's life will be held at East Cooper Baptist Church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Visitation will begin at 9:30am, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 with a Graveside Services to follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406 at 12pm.
Rather than send flowers, Claire would have preferred you make time for a friend in need, commit to a worthy cause or just read a good book. As a devout tither, Claire would have also encouraged your recurring charitable contribution to worthy health and community-based causes.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.carolinamemorial.com for the Willett family.
