She graduated from North Charleston High School in 1960. She married the love of her life, Roland M. Perry on June 8, 1960. She became a mom to a son, Philip R. Perry on September 7, 1963, and a second son Joseph M. Perry on February 10, 1971. Bonnie worked for a few different companies and spent most of her career as a civil service employee for the Federal government where she retired. Bonnie was a long-standing member of Berkeley Baptist Church. She had a love for reading and enjoyed historical romances and reading through cookbooks. Bonnie was a friend to many and enjoyed helping and making goodies for her family and neighbors. She enjoyed family gatherings at her brother's home in Moncks Corner. You would often find Bonnie sitting on her porch rocking and talking on the phone with family from Maine or other relatives and friends. She looked forward to receiving photos of her grandchildren and great-grands and seeing all the activities they were involved in. To her great-grands, she was "GG".
Bonnie is pre-deceased by her parents Sylvester & Muriel Easterling, and her sister Valma Coward.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Roland Perry, her son Philip Perry and his wife Nancy, and her son Jody Perry, her brother Clifford "Bucky" Easterling, and his wife Betty. Granddaughters, Jessica Kimball, Sarah Perry, and Kayla Blankenship. Her great-grands Katie, Austin, Eli, Bennett, and Kayden. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunt, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Carolina Funeral Home – 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. There will be a burial following the service at 12:00 p.m.
