Howard was a humble man who cared deeply for others. He had a strong love for his hometown of Kinistino SK. He always had fond memories to share of playing street hockey and going for cold drives in the winter with his dear friends Larry, Leo and Don. He always had a longing to go back to simpler times where people had a strong work ethic and an even stronger sense of community. Howard never forgot how the community members of Kinistino supported his family when his beloved mother Helen passed.
Howard worked most of his life at Safeway in Saskatoon and Prince Albert. He also enjoyed his time that he worked at Norwesco. Later in life he shared that he always felt like he was home in the produce section. He had a great fondness for him co-workers and regarded them as family.
Howard leaves behind his three daughters; Charlotte Schaffer (Mark), Jennifer Kurtz (Rolf) and Erin Woytiuk (Andrew). Howard longed to go back in time and relive camping trips and family reunions with his family. He had a special connection to Waskesiu where he was able to spend a few vacations with his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The last few years of his life he had the opportunity to reside with his youngest daughter and her family. They were so grateful for this time they were able to spend together. Howard kept busy tending to the yard, building a fence and checking off an endless list of projects. He worked for a short time at Sobeys in North Battleford where he made connections with his co-workers and will be sadly missed.
Howard had the privilege of having 12 brothers and sisters. He loved them deeply and had special and unique relationship with each of them. He has many nieces and nephews who he enjoyed getting to know throughout the years.
Howard has five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by them.
Howard’s celebration of life and interment will occur at a later date.
