Ryan Carver Trammel

Ryan Carver Trammel was born on December 23, 1975 to proud parents Rick and Lois Trammel. He was welcomed home by his big sister, Dawn Trammel Millard, which Ryan referred to as “Sissy.” Ryan grew up in the Norman Public School system where he attended Wilson and Cleveland Elementary Schools, Longfellow Middle School, West Mid-High School and graduated from Norman High School in May of 1995. He then continued his education at the University of Oklahoma where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in journalism with a focus in Graphic Design in May of 2002. On April 2, 2003 his next adventure began. He sold nearly everything he owned and moved to NYC. He told his mama that he would only be therefor “2 years max.” Although he missed his family dearly and frequently referred to Oklahoma as “God’s Country”, he remained in NYC for the next 16 years. He just couldn’t bring himself to leave the big city life that he loved. He loved the diversity of the people, cultures and food. He became quite the gourmet cook himself insisting that all of his delicious creations he made from scratch. When he wasn’t cooking he was writing, playing and recording music of his own. The musical gifts he shared with the world were second to none. He only thought that “the big move” was a big adventure until he welcomed his baby girl, Genevieve Leigh Trammel, into the world on July 22, 2011. Upon her arrival he became a stay at home daddy and loved every minute of it. Although he recognized it was the hardest job he had ever had, it was also the most rewarding. I loved her so dearly and marveled in everything she did. She was truly a “Daddy’s Girl.” He had such a variety of talents. He took such pride in his carpentry abilities that he had learned from his dad who Ryan insisted hung the moon. Ryan loved all things in nature from quiet walks in the woods, fishing or simply gazing at the stars. He admired a variety of musicians as well, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and the members of his own band The Tea Set Colony. He always remained dedicated to his friends and family even through the distance. Ryan was that guy that always had your back. Ryan was that guy that always had your back. His kindness, caring heart, quick wit. And orneriness will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Ryan is survived by his precious daughter Genevieve Leigh Trammel of Brooklyn, NY, the love of his life Marielle Coadic of Woodside, NY, his loving parents Rick and Lois Trammel of Norman, OK, protective big sister Dawn Trammel Millard of Piedmont, OK, brother-in-law Todd Millard of Piedmont, OK, nephews Cole and Ely Millard of Piedmont, OK, Aunts Cheryl Francis and Patti Wallace of Lewisville, TX and numerous cousins in Texas, California, and Montana.

Ryan was welcomed to his heavenly home by his maternal grandmother Ethel Liggett, paternal grandparents Charles and Geraldine Trammel, Aunts Donna Yvarra, Audrey Ramirez, Nedra Brown, Uncles Butch Liggett, Ted Franchia, Wes Wallace and cousins Scott and Bryan Yvarra.
