She was born August 15, 1939 in Lansing, MI to Joseph Steven and Hazel Vene (Cassidy) Veenstra.
Peggy was the matriarch of her family and loved to be a care giver to all of her family and friends. She enjoyed fishing when she got a chance to go in between overseeing her rental properties. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her son: Gaylen Cates of Mcloud; family friend: Lavon Shelton; siblings: JoAnn Ledbetter of Del City, Timmy (Cathy) Veenstra of Mcloud, Patricia (Slim) Henderson of Oklahoma City, Shirley (Art) Johnson of Mcloud, Diane Gibson of Shawnee, Michael (Carol) Veenstra of California; grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Jimmy and Vern Veenstra.
Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday April 29, 2016 at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 N. Porter Ave. Norman, OK. Inurnment will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday April 29 at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Cemetery, 2301 E Indian Hills Rd, Norman, OK.
