Mary Ann Poindexter entered eternal life peacefully on Christmas Eve morning. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, friend and employee. She was born August 27, 1934 in San Benito, Texas to loving parents Isabell and Lawrence Goodrich. She grew up in southern Texas, the third of four children with brothers Don, Henry and Bob. She graduated from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio where she was active in the Newman Club. There she met her future husband Clayton Poindexter, who won her heart on the dance floor and as a trumpet player in an Air Force band. They were married at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church in San Antonio on October 24, 1953. They settled in Oklahoma City where she worked as an administrative assistant at TG&Y Stores until they were blessed with two children, Monica and Alan. She reentered the workforce after raising her children and retired in 1997. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for over 60 years and enjoyed traveling and spending treasured time with family and friends. She was always friendly, never knew a stranger and always had a kind word for everyone.
She is preceded in death by her dear son Alan who left us way too early, brother Henry, brother Bob and his wife Martha, and sister-in-law June Madison and her husband Earl. She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years Clayton, her daughter Monica Stasyszen and her husband Rick, adored grandchildren Mark Stasyszen and his wife Crystal, Jeff Stasyszen and his wife Allison, Alex Stasyszen, and Emily Stasyszen and cherished great-grandchildren Gideon, Lee, Ruth and Gloria, brother Don Goodrich and his wife Patsy, and many loved nieces and nephews and their children. She was so loved and will be greatly missed, but will always be in our hearts.
