Mark was born May 15, 1947, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Dodge City, Kansas, to Victor and Christine (McCallion) McCart.
He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, St. Mary's of the Plains High School, and attended both Dodge City Junior College and St. Mary's College.
He married Jolana Schaben on November 4, 1974 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Dodge City, Kansas. They made Norman their home in 1993.
He loved NASCAR, watching the American Pickers and was a big Oklahoma Sooner fan. He was a championship roller skater in his youth. He was employed by Broce Construction Company and Broce Manufacturing for close to 50 years. He was the designer of the MK1 Transfer Sweeper and designed several self propelled road sweepers for Broce.
He is survived by his wife, Jolana, son Kelly and fiancé Krista of Purcell, daughter Staci and husband Jon McPherson of Edmond; brothers and their spouses Phil and Sylvia of Nicholson, Georgia, Steve and Debbie of Clovis, New Mexico, and sister Frances Smith of Hutchinson, Kansas; grandsons Bradley McCart and Ben McPherson, mother-in-law Johnette Schaben, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Ronald Schaben, brother-in-law Richard Smith and nephew Greg Schaben.
Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday August 24, 2017 at Primrose Funeral Service, Norman, OK. Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday August 25, 2017at Primrose Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery, Norman, OK
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Cancer Society or Second Chance Animal Sanctuary Norman, OK.
