Frankie Fae Wheeler left this earth to spend all eternity with Jesus on September 9, 2015 in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse V. Wheeler; three brothers, Richard Miller, David Miller, and Calvin Miller; and two sisters, Patricia Boggs and Izetta Gratner.
Frankie was born on April 18, 1922 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Ethel and Frank Miller. After graduating from Enid High School she married Jesse Wheeler on July 19, 1940 and they began their 64 year journey together that lasted until he died in March of 2004.
Being one who enjoyed serving God and others, Frankie spent her life being a devoted wife to her husband and raising four children to love and fear God. For almost 50 years she taught five year old children in Sunday School and because of that she had an incredible, positive impact on many lives through the years. Frankie worked for 26 years in the Moore school cafeteria system cooking and serving food to students and touching many lives along the way.
She spent time visiting shut ins and brightening their lives by letting them know that she cared about them. Often she would go to nursing homes and spend time painting fingernails for the ladies while listening to their stories. There were so many other acts of service over the years that it would be impossible to list them all.
I’m certain that she is one of the minority of Christians who got to hear the greatest words a person could ever hear from our Lord Jesus, “Well done you good and faithful servant.”
Well known for her quick wit, she spoke thousands of one-liners over the years that would make people double over in laughter. For instance she would say, “I’d like to go swimming but my bathing suit has a hole in the knee.” Or, “I’ve been busier than a mosquito in a nudist colony.”
Frankie is survived by three sisters; Helen Dillon, Shirley Sturdevant and Bonnie Martin all of Enid.
Four children: Sharon Waits of Germantown, Tennessee, Carol Dunn (Hoyt) of McKinney, Texas, Janet Stewart of Duncan, and Mark Wheeler (Ragena) of Moore.
Nine grandchildren: Mitchel Waits (Julie), Matthew Waits (Karen), Rebecca Puckett (Adam), Bryan Dunn (Ruby), Shelley Stewart, Will Stewart (Lauren), Abbie Stewart, Davie Garza, and Chris Garza (Abby).
Fourteen great-grandchildren: Cody Sides, Jesse Waits, Casey Jenkins (Will), Mackenzi Dunn, Morgan Dunn, Collin Waits, Hannah Waits, Harlow Waits, Tripp Stewart, Jacob Stewart, Lennon Stewart, Abigail Garza, Selena Garza, and Noah Garza.
One great-great grandchild: Jillian Jenkins.
Frankie will be missed terribly by all of her family and friends. Vistiation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service Sunday September 13, 2015 at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 N. Porter Ave. Norman, OK
