David Trent Walter

David Trent Walter, 34, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012. David was born November 10, 1977 in Fort Hood, TX as the first born of then Corporal Carl D. Walter and Wanda M. (Lamb) Walter. He began the life of an Army Brat, which saw him also living in Fort Campbell, KY, Hanau, Germany, Newport News, VA, Enterprise, AL., where he graduated from Enterprise High School in 1996, and Fort Wainwright, AK. After his parent’s retirement from the U.S. Army, he moved from Alaska back home with the family to Norman, OK.

Once in Norman, he finally got to live the long awaited life of a fan of his beloved Sooners. He loved his Sooner football and always anticipated going to every game.

Norman was also where he met the love of his life, his wife of 11 years, Roxxann Murphy. They made their home in Tucson, AZ. and Sausalito, CA. before moving back to their home base of Norman, OK. David made his living as a Route Sales Driver for Farmer Brothers Coffee. He made many relationships with clients throughout South Eastern Oklahoma. He added these clients to his long list of dear friends.

More than anything, David’s life was filled with caring for and enjoying his extensive family. Of late, his life was filled mostly with one particular family member, his daughter Romalie True Love Walter. They were able to spend 18 beautiful months together and he taught her everything she knows. His favorite songs to sing with her were “You Are My Sunshine” and “Rivers of Babylon”.

David loved music of all kinds and had a special affinity for “The Flaming Lips“. He loved to spend time outdoors while working in the garden. David was also fond of traveling to experience new places, but especially to the West Coast, where he had a special place in his heart for Marin County of California. And since they’ve been in OKC, he was happy to share in the OKC Thunder’s victories.

David was a deep and loyal spirit, with boundless love for his family, and he is already missed.

David is survived by his Wife Roxxann and Daughter Romy of the home, Father Carl David, Mother Wanda, Sister Amy and her Husband Brandon, Niece Gabbie, Nephew Xander, as well as many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

David lost his life trying to help someone else. That was just David being David, and the world is a much worse place for his loss.
