Born June 4, 1981 in Ardmore Oklahoma Chad was the cherished son of Donnell Cox and Dona (Duke) Cox. Despite his parents being a school principal and a teacher, Chad would enjoy stirring up trouble throughout his younger academic years. He graduated from Ardmore High School in 2000 and pursued higher education with a longer than intended stay at the University of Oklahoma, eventually graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences specializing in wildlife biology and conservation.
Chad enjoyed a diverse career beginning at a cell phone store and a call center while he was in high school followed by many years in the food industry and then dabbled in the oil industry for a little while. He ended his career as a chemist, a role he was proud of himself for accomplishing. His thirst for knowledge was insatiable, always eager to delve into the latest developments and share his favorite bits of information with family and friends.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Chad’s true joy came from being a father to the four boys he helped bring into this world. Starting with Camden in 2001 and Carson in 2005 followed by Wriley in 2013 and Walker in 2015; He would instill in all of them a love of adventure and an anchor of family. He cherished every family moment spent together, whether it was exploring the beauty of nature on weekend hikes or creating lasting memories on vacation.
He leaves behind a legacy of dad jokes, random facts, and a long list of detailed stories. His compassion, integrity, and resilience will forever live on, inspiring those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
He is preceded in death by his father Donnell Cox and his mother Dona (Duke) Cox.
