Willie Herman Williams,

Virginia Beach, VA Willie H. Williams, age 87, known to his family and friends as "Herman" passed away at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center on August 4, 2011. Herman was a native of Princess Anne County, VA. He was a member of New Light Full Gospel Baptist Church on Indian River Road and a retired short shoreman after 30 years of service with the Virginia Port Authority.

Surviving him are his wife; Ruth D. Williams and six daughters, Cassandra D. Williams, Cordelia W. Johnson, Karen D. Bowman, Hermette Burrows(Clarence), Joan A. Wells(Art) and Lisa M. Garnett; three sons; Willie H. Williams, Jr., Bryant J. Williams(Ivy) and Larry J. Uzzle(Tavana); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Tiny E. Mack. The family will receive family and friends Friday, August 12, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, Va 23502. A home going service will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday, August 13, 2011 at New Light Full Gospel Baptist Church, 5549 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464 with Rev. Violet Smith officiating and assisted by Rev. Marcus Jennings, Jr.. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. After the burial family and friends are invited back to the church for a repass meal in remembrance of Herman.
